The European IMRD network
The IMRD Association
By forming a network of institutes of excellence the International MSc in Rural Development builds on excellent competencies in the area of rural development, strong links with the professional world and extensive experience in joint training programmes for foreign students.
Main partners of the program
The joint IMRD is offered by Ghent University (Belgium), Agrocampus Ouest (France), Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), Pisa University (Italy) and the Slovak University of Nitra (Slovakia). The qualification obtained is an internationally recognised Master of Science degree jointly awarded by these five Universities.
These institutes offer the full programme in collaboration with the partner Universities who offer modules in their field of specialisation. The partner universities are Wageningen University (Netherlands), the University of Pretoria (South Africa), University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (India), ESPOL (Ecuador), Nanjing Agricultural University and China Agricultural University (China).
The objective of the partnership with third country universities is to enhance research and teaching collaboration and better understand the rural development problems in the partner countries. By exchange of students and in particular scholars we also want to open and strengthen the interaction among EU and non-EU countries with respect to research, exchange of practices and policies of rural development.
The IMRD is developing an extended network with professional partner organisations to enhance the quality of the programme and to promote employability of its alumni.
