The double degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Economics offers the opportunity to study the European and US vision on rural development in its diversity of approaches and applications.

The objective is to train specialists in comparative analysis of EU and US agricultural and rural development policies through a 2 year master program (120 ECTS) jointly organised by 5 EU and US leading institutes in agricultural economics and rural development.

The joint Master is offered by Ghent University (Belgium), Agrocampus Rennes (France), Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (Slovakia) and the University of Pisa (Italy). The US partner is the University of Arkansas.

The methodology consists of a combination of basic and specialised training in technical, economic and social sciences, a case study of one month, an individual master thesis and a high extent of student and scholar mobility.

Eligible U.S. students and faculty must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident.
